With the help of previous winners, the St. Louis Business Journal has reviewed nearly 150 nominations and selected the 2021 class of Most Influential Business Women. The final 25 selections include Mary Alice Ryan, Executive Director and CEO of St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors System.
The Most Influential Business Women Awards program, established in 1999, annually recognizes the accomplishments of the region's women business leaders. These women have made an impact not only in the industries in which they work, but at local nonprofits and in the communities they represent. And few people have had the impact on the senior service industry than Ryan, one of the few women to lead a large multi-facility non-profit senior services organization in the U.S.
Ryan has been a part of St. Andrew’s for 37 years and has ultimate responsibility for the operation of all St. Andrew’s communities and programs, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing communities, and life plan communities, as well as a management and consulting company, an in-home senior service organization, and a charitable foundation. She has grown St. Andrew’s from two communities serving 300 seniors to 16 communities and home and community service programs touching the lives of over 8,700 seniors and their caregivers each year and employing over 1,100 staff. She has helped turn St. Andrew’s into the 12th largest non-profit in St. Louis.
The Business Journal will recognize Ryan’s accomplishments – along with the other 24 Most Influential Business Women Class of 2021 honorees – in a special section in the paper on August 13, and will follow that up with an in-person luncheon the same day. The awards program and event are sponsored by Maryville University, more information can be found at https://mms.stlforum.org/Calendar/moreinfo.php?eventid=64833.
