R. Bannes
Ms. Bannes is a recognized speaker on aging and caregiver issues both locally and nationally. Ms. Bannes has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Gerontology. Ms. Bannes serves on numerous community boards, coalitions, and committees. Carrie
Pereda
Carrie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Mississippi, Oxford and is working to complete her Masters Degree at University of Missouri, St. Louis. Carrie is a member of the Continuum of Care Marketing Association, a member of the business Advisory Council for BHR and the Metro Health Group and remains active in alumnae activities as well as several other charities and local fund raising activities. In her free time, Carrie enjoys running with her two dogs and spending time with her husband, Eduardo.
Larrie Zabel is the Marketing Director for St. Andrew's At-Home Services. She coordinates all outreach efforts with churches, social workers, hospitals and health agencies as well as organizing health and wellness fair participation, scheduling presentations for our Speaker’s Bureau, and editing of the newsletter. In addition, she keeps the community informed of relevant topics relating to seniors. Larrie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Webster University majoring in Management with an emphasis in International Business and certified in International Studies. Larrie is a native of St. Louis but more specifically South County She is a member of the Continuum of Care Marketing Association, Breakthrough Coalition, and the AARP Educational Resource Council. In her free time, Larrie enjoys cooking, attending local art events, movies, dinning out, volunteering for various events and causes, and spending time with her family.
Heather O’Brian is an Eldercare Specialist for the Caring Workplace. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (Minor Sociology) from University of Missouri-Columbia 1998 and her MSW in 2000. She focused her individual education plan in the MSW program on working with older adults and their families. Since graduating she has worked with seniors in a variety of settings…Home Health Care, Independent Senior Housing, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and most recently in Adult Day Services. She found a passion for social work with older adults after seeing the struggle her grandparents had in finding and coordinating services after her grandfather became ill. The people who were supposed to help them ended up being another obstacle in their path and she felt like there was a real need to help others in similar situations.
In her spare time, Heather loves to read, garden, swim, and spend time
with her husband and cats as well as the rest of her family.
Sheila Longsdon, MSW, is the Eldercare Specialist for the Geriatric Care
Management program of St Andrew’s At Home Services. She is working with
seniors and their families to help identify their needs, coordinate
resources, and provide advocacy. She also is involved in various
community outreach programs.
She holds a
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College and a
Master’s in Social Work from St Louis University. Her career in social
work has focused in working with senior adults in a variety of settings-
Hospital, Skilled Nursing facilities, Independent Housing. She also
does volunteer work with a community organization.
In her leisure
time, Sheila enjoys spending time with family & friends, her two cats,
